The Confidence to Try
At Pownall Hall School, children are taught that getting something wrong is simply part of discovering what they can do.
Located in Wilmslow, Cheshire, the preparatory school has created a positive and inclusive environment where pupils are encouraged to embrace challenges, learn from mistakes and give every opportunity their best effort.
This philosophy became the foundation of our creative approach, shaping everything from the film’s narrative and pacing to the individual moments we captured.
More Than a School Showcase
Working closely with the Pownall Hall team, Feel Good Films developed a commercial-style film that would communicate the school’s ethos through genuine emotion and experience.
Rather than presenting audiences with a list of facilities or achievements, we wanted prospective families to understand how it feels to be part of the school.
The film follows children as they explore, experiment and challenge themselves, supported by teachers who give them the confidence and freedom to learn. Each scene reinforces the idea that education is not about always getting things right—it is about being brave enough to try.
Bringing the Brand to Life
To deliver the scale and cinematic quality of the concept, we brought together a six-person crew for two days of filming.
This gave us the time and creative flexibility to carefully construct each scene while preserving the warmth, personality and natural energy of the school community.
The completed film is an authentic expression of the Pownall Hall brand: professional without feeling polished for the sake of it, emotionally engaging without losing its playfulness, and rooted in the values that make the school distinctive.
Ultimately, it presents Pownall Hall as a place where children feel supported, encouraged and ready to discover what they are capable of.

"Everyone around the school, staff and pupils, thoroughly enjoyed the experience of working with Feel Good Films. They had incredible patience with the children, some as young as 12 months old, and a fantastic calming energy despite working to a tight deadline across two very long filming days.
We couldn't have asked for a better reaction to our video. Presenting for the first time during our Speech Day service, the video was met with a combination of awe and tears.
